Excitement filled EKC Broadstairs College today as students received their long-awaited Level 3 results, marking the culmination of their hard work, dedication and achievements.
Principal of EKC Broadstairs College, Nicola Tumber, said: “Today, we celebrate not just results, but the dedication, resilience and ambition behind them. We are immensely proud of our T Level and Level 3 students and all they have achieved. Congratulations on your success – we are excited to see where your ambition takes you next.”
For many learners, today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter, whether that means progressing to university, starting an apprenticeship, entering employment or continuing their studies.
We caught up with some of our students to congratulate them on their success and find out where they are heading next.
Charlie achieved a Distinction and is planning to take a gap year before deciding on his next steps. Christan achieved a Merit and will be continuing his studies at the University of Kent, while Daniel achieved a Distinction and will be heading to the University of Sussex.
Speaking about their experience at Margate Digital, they said: “We were the first students to enter Margate Digital, so we were kind of the guinea pigs – and as far as guinea pigs go, we got it pretty good! It’s all state-of-the-art equipment, better than some universities in the area. If you’re looking for a good creative space, then Margate Digital is the place to be.”
Daniel’s advice to students considering their next steps is simple: “You can spend all this time umming and ahhing, but until you put your foot in the door and walk, you’re going to stand still. You’ve just got to do it. If you want to do something, you might as well do it.”
Speaking about their time at College, she said: “Being able to stand up in front of a class of teachers and children and speak loudly, or simply ask for help, has made me much more confident than I was when I first started the T Level.”
She is now heading to Cambodia to volunteer to help children and will then be heading to Norland College.
“I’m going to university, which is exciting. I’m going to Norland College, and although I hoped for higher results so I could stand out a little more, I got a C, which is 96 UCAS points and what I need to get in.”

We asked Salman: What made you choose a T Level rather than staying at school to study A Levels?
Salman said: “I was really interested in the work placement that comes with the T Level. When you create a CV, it shows that you already have experience working in a similar role, which can really make a difference. At the same time, it still gives you the opportunity to progress to university, so it opens lots of doors.”
Would you recommend a T Level to Year 10 and Year 11 students who are considering their next steps?
“Yes, definitely. It helps prepare you for moving into a job after your T Levels, but it also opens doors to university and apprenticeships.”
What are you doing next?
“I am going to the University of Kent to study Business and Management.”
What advice would you give to Year 10 and Year 11 students who are deciding what to do next?
“At that age, it can be difficult to know exactly what you want to do. My advice is to research your options. Take time to look at what is available and think about what you want to do. Making decisions can feel difficult, but you can always change direction or move to something different later.”
Throughout their two-year T Level, both students completed 750 hours of industry placement, gaining valuable hands-on experience alongside their classroom learning.
Grace said: “I think doing a T Level has taught me so much more about working with children than I would have learnt through the traditional A Level route. I’m really happy with my choice.”
Grace achieved a Distinction and will now progress to Edge Hill University, where she will study to become a primary school teacher.
Ruby achieved a Merit and has already secured her next step, gaining a job at the nursery attached to the College through her industry placement.
She said: “I’ve learnt loads during my T Level and I’m going to be working at the nursery. I got the job through my placement, so it’s been a really valuable experience.”
Fresh with his results in his hand, we asked Salaman to share what his next steps will be.
“I am excited to accept a place at UCL, the University of Creative Arts, to study Fine Art.”
Was there anything new you discovered during your course?
“I discovered printmaking, which I had never done before, and I’ve really enjoyed it.”
Looking further ahead, where would you like your interest in fine art to take you?
“I’ve been interested in fine art for a while, and I’d really like to work under an artist to see how that side of the industry works. I think the experience would be invaluable.”
