At the young age of 51 I decided it was time for a complete change in career path. I had worked as a Retail Manager for many years, but it’s not easy to find local work in cultural retail, so decided it was time for a change. I have always enjoyed woodwork and getting hands-on so figured this course was the ideal place to start.
So far I’m loving it. It’s great to have the chance to work with the tools, and have an unlimited supply of wood. The College has great facilities and equipment for us to use. I know if I make mistakes I can just start again – that would be very difficult and expensive if I were teaching myself independently.
Our short and part-time courses fit around your life, with many courses taking place in the evenings and during the week.
Study alongside like-minded people in a professional, friendly environment and become part of our adult learning community.
Our lecturers are practicing industry professionals, meaning you are learning up to date skills that are relevant to the modern world.
I enjoy coming to College, everyone is friendly and we all support each other in our work. As a mature student with English not being my first language I haven’t felt any barriers to my learning. I’ve always felt welcomed and well supported by staff and other students.
