At the young age of 51 I decided it was time for a complete change in career path. I had worked as a Retail Manager for many years, but it’s not easy to find local work in cultural retail, so decided it was time for a change. I have always enjoyed woodwork and getting hands-on so figured this course was the ideal place to start.

So far I’m loving it. It’s great to have the chance to work with the tools, and have an unlimited supply of wood. The College has great facilities and equipment for us to use. I know if I make mistakes I can just start again – that would be very difficult and expensive if I were teaching myself independently.
