Business, Finance and Travel

Whether you’re passionate about entrepreneurship, eager to become an accountant or are looking to dive into the world of management and administration, our specialised courses are designed to fuel your ambitions.

Learn through real-life experiences

Our courses are designed and taught by lecturers who have previously worked within the industry.

With their expert teaching, extensive links with local employers and the opportunity to take part in relevant industry trips, you will gain the skills needed to develop in the world of business and finance.

We also work closely with The Yarrow Hotel, which is situated in the grounds of EKC Broadstairs College.

The Yarrow gives students the unique opportunity to gain an understanding of how to work in a commercial setting with paying customers.

Take part in unique opportunities

Our Business students pitched to a panel of professionals earlier this year as part of their T Level course.

They were tasked with creating new products, building a brand identity and presenting themselves in order to win funding from the college Principal.

This was a great opportunity for them to build on their presentation skills.

Molly – Pass in T Level Management and Administration

“My T Level work placement at OFP Timber Frame has really developed me so much as a person.

“I’m now going to become an apprentice there to study the CIPD Level 3 Diploma, where I can follow my goal of becoming a Human Resources Manager and working towards higher education.

“This is where I’d love to be in the future, but first I need to get to advisor level first. OFP have been really happy with my progress and are going to hire me once I’ve finished my apprenticeship.

“It was daunting at first being in a male-dominated industry, but I’ve proven to myself that if you just stick with things and carry on then you will go far.

“Studying has made me more disciplined and made me realise that if you want good opportunities then it’s up to you to have the right attitude.”

Harvey – Pass in T Level Management and Administration

I’d like to be able to go into Affiliate Marketing, as this was one of my strongest areas in the course.

“However I’m not 100% sure yet, so I’m taking a bit of time out to think about it.

“I may also like to set up my own business so maybe something combining the two so would be nice.

“Luckily thanks to the course I’ve got a better understanding of business as a whole, so this could be an option.”

Alex- Merit in T Level Management and Administration

“Doing something in the world of Politics is now my aim, so I’ve been looking into courses such as Political Philosophy for after my gap year.

“I’m currently thinking of the University of Sheffield or Lancaster, somewhere up north, but we’ll see after my travels.

I want to work for a third-sector organisation that is heavily involved in politics and making change.

“Confidence, being open and having the right qualifications will help me get there and I’ve achieved all of those on the T Level.”

I chose to study the T Level as it opens up a different range of techniques in business management.

It’s been great to experience the practical side of business, such as in my work placement with St Lawrence’s College. There I have been helping the bursary team, and have learnt so much about what they do and gained lots of first-hand experience when it comes to admin tasks.

This course will help me in my future career so much as I can leave College with experience rather than having to work my way from the ground up.

T Level Management and Administration Student

I absolutely love my course as not only is the curriculum enriching but all my teachers are very helpful and supportive when I need them.

The environment they have created in my College classes has made my experience a great one, where I have made lots of friends and taken part in some really fun activities.

I used to be so nervous when presenting in front of a group of people, but I have learnt how to overcome this and become more confident.

I now feel that I am able to get myself out there in the world of business as I have learnt to engage with lots of different people.

Olivia
Level 2 Business Student

I’m currently doing work placement at OFP Timber at Discovery Park in Sandwich which has an exciting opportunity.

I’ve loved getting to grips with their software and systems as well as having them take me under their wing.

I’ve enjoyed just meeting the new people and  getting to experience a new work culture overall, full of teamwork and taking charge.

I’d recommend the T Level as it is so fun and you get to interact and present pretty much every day.
