Centre for Creative Industries

Our Centre for Creative Industries has been specially designed so that you have access to the latest equipment, digital technology and specialist production spaces including art and photography studios and photography darkroom.

Our Creative Industries department will help you get started in a branch of this exciting industry, be it in art, design, photography or film. Studying Creative and Design at EKC Broadstairs College will give you the chance to focus, develop and specialise in the area you are passionate about.

The Michael Wright Building is home to our £3.3m Centre for Creative Industries, boasting an amphitheatre, digital media suites and recording studios, with industry-standard kit and the latest technologies.

Taught by Practicing Artists

Our creative courses allow flexibility for learners to develop their individuality and confidence, providing a comprehensive grounding in a range of creative and design disciplines.

Our students are taught by highly qualified tutors with a wealth of teaching experience, many of whom are practicing artists that have their own businesses, work to commission and exhibit their work globally.

Progression Opportunities and Industry Links

We get you ready for employment through meaningful work placements or links with our industry partners such as POW! Thanet.

You will have the opportunity to go on industry trips and visits including art galleries in London and the Turner Contemporary where you can take part in workshops with well-known artists.

Curate and Showcase Your Work

You will have the opportunity to contribute to our End of Year Showcase. In the past artwork has been on display in art galleries in Margate, Ramsgate and Broadstairs.

Students have also exhibited their work at the Turner Contemporary, Margate Bookie Literary Festival and at POW! Thanet events.

We also take part in art competitions where you can showcase your skills, such as the Turner Portfolio competition.
