What happened in Term 4…

Football Tournament

In February, student footballers from across East Kent Colleges Group came together to compete in a tournament at Ramsgate FC. Organised by Darren, the Student Experience Officer at EKC Folkestone College. The teams played their top players in the hope of taking home the tournament trophy. The students involved had a brilliant time playing the other Colleges.

Careers fair

In April, the Welcome Building was a hub of excitement as we welcomed 20 local businesses into College to take part in our careers fair. The fair offered students a wide range of opportunities to explore. Businesses from different sectors were on hand, sharing valuable insights and career advice to help students discover their potential career paths.

Thank you to the Student Ambassadors who helped make this fair a success.

Easter Scavenger Hunt

On Friday 4 April, the Students’ Union ran an Easter egg scavenger hunt around the campus. Students were invited to find little wooden eggs which had been carefully hidden around campus. The eggs had the message “take me to the Students’ Centre” written on the front. Once found students could exchange their wooden egg for a delicious creme egg.

Guest speaker – Forward Trust | Wednesday 14 May

We are pleased to welcome Darren Lacy from Forward Trust as a guest speaker. With over 30 years of experience, Forward Trust supports individuals in overcoming drug and alcohol issues and making positive life changes.

Darren will be delivering an important talk on the dangers of drugs and alcohol, helping students understand the risks involved and how to make safer, more informed choices. This session aims to empower young people with the knowledge they need to take control of their decisions and well-being.

Chessington Trip | Wednesday 21 May

We’re offering 50 students the opportunity to take part in a trip to Chessington World of Adventures. This well-known theme park combines exciting rides, a zoo and a SEA LIFE centre. We are looking forward for a fun-filled day!
