An air of nervous excitement filled the College today, as students came to collect their long-awaited Level 3 results.
Results Day is a proud moment for the College, as we celebrate the achievements of our students completing T Level programmes and other Level 3 qualifications.

Nicola Tumber, Deputy Principal at EKC Broadstairs College, commented: “We’re incredibly proud of our hardworking students.
“We’ve had a higher amount of Distinctions this year than we have ever had before which has been amazing to see.
“Our students have all put in so much good work, and it’s wonderful to see that pay off.”
For many learners, they are already looking forward to their future and are now taking their next step into a world they’ve planned for throughout their College journey.
We caught up with some of our students to congratulate them on their success and to find out where they are heading next.

Brandon, a T Level Digital Production, Design and Development received a Distinction. He is now progressing to Lancaster University to study MSci Cyber Security (with Industrial Experience).
“The course had a lot of aspects to me that were interesting, like software, design, the work placement and a wide range of business contacts which is very important to someone going to university.”

Sofia-Rose, a standout Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care student received an A. She is now progressing to Queen’s University Belfast to study a BSW in Social Work.
Sofia-Rose discussed her College journey with us, stating: “I want to be a social worker for adults with learning disabilities.
“I had really great and supportive lecturers. I’ve even brought flowers for Elaine, my course’s Programme Director, and my tutor during my second year. She’s the most supportive person ever.”
Sofia-Rose said the best part of her course was her placement: “I did two years of placement with a local company. I actually work there now and they’re training me to be a support worker. It’s New Horizons, a centre for adults with disabilities.”

Among those celebrating, Nathan, who just completed our T Level Business Management and Administration course, expressed his gratitude for the support he’s been able to access at College.
He commented: “The Careers Team have really helped me with my applications for University. I’ve now got in, and I’m going to the University of Staffordshire!
“My favourite thing about College has been the community, as everyone’s really nice and the lecturers treat you with respect.”

T Level Business Management and Administration learner, Evie, has already secured a position as a Technical Administrator with AEM.
Speaking about her she got her job, Evie said: “After my course I started straight away working at a company that fixes landing gears on airplanes. My work placement was at OFP Timber and because I did well there, I got recommended to my current company, AEM.
“I do lab work, admin, health and safety training, maintenance and more!”
Reflecting on her time at college, Evie noted: “I liked my T Level. I liked my work placement and it helped me to get my job.
“The life experience I gained from College has been great, and the group learning helped me a lot as that’s how I prefer to learn. There was a lot of discussion, debate and real life topics that made me feel like I was learning things I’d use in the future.”

Lacey, a T Level Education and Early Years student achieved a Distinction in her course, and was overjoyed. She told us: “I chose to study my course as I wanted to work abroad on cruises. My course really helped me succeed, and I found the work placement taught me how to build connections with colleagues.”

T Level Digital Production, Design and Development student attended Level 3 Results Day with his parents and received a B after completing his first year of the two-year programme.
“We came in with him to all of the Open Days to ask all of the questions we wanted to find out what a T Level is and compared it to what we grew up knowing as courses and everything” said his mother, Laura.
“It’s something he wants to do, so we said to him, ‘crack on.’ You can see he’s passionate about it, it’s reflected in his grades.”
We would like to congratulate all our students on their fantastic achievements and wish them every success for the future.
