We recently welcomed L’Oréal Paris, one of the world’s most iconic hair and beauty brands, for an interactive showcase designed to inspire students about future careers in the hairdressing industry.
The event brought together over 100 Hair and Beauty students not only from our College but also EKC Ashford College, and EKC Canterbury College too, offering them a unique opportunity to learn from industry experts, explore new techniques, and gain insight into the diverse career paths available within the sector.
Organised by Emma Suter, one of our Hairdressing Lecturers, in partnership with Miranda Kinns, Education Consultant at L’Oréal, the day featured live demonstrations, Q&A sessions, and hands-on activities.
Students watched a L’Oréal ID Artist create a stunning hair look while sharing professional tips and answering questions.
“L’Oréal is an iconic brand in the hair and beauty industry,” Lecturer at EKC Broadstairs College Emma Suter, said.
“We’ve worked with them for nearly three years, and their support for Colleges is incredible. From online platforms to external certifications, they provide students with real opportunities to grow and succeed.”
Miranda Kinns added: “Students are the next generation of stylists, and they inspire me as much as I hope to inspire them. This event was all about showing them what’s possible and helping them feel ready to take on the world.”
The showcase also featured student-led demonstrations. This including a hair-up look created by Sophie Ellie Manzi, who described the experience as motivational.
“L’Oreal is a big brand, and I think the main thing for me that I’ve taken from it is that actually it’s not in a dream world where you can become big from hairdressing, it’s an opportunity that you can take,” she said.
“I think it’s given everyone a bit of motivation to see what you could have if you worked hard enough. I think there are so many opportunities and so many things that I don’t know about, and I’d love to just learn more about them so I can put them into my own career.”
With over 100 students in attendance, the event highlighted the power of industry partnerships in shaping the future of hairdressing and providing students with the skills and confidence to thrive.
