We have located some of the best spots for studying across the campus, so you can pick the learning space that works for you.

It will not come as a surprise to you that a significant part of College life is spent studying, whether this is with friends on a group project or getting your course work completed independently.

We have located some of the best spots for studying across the campus, so you can pick the learning space that works for you.

2 pictures both showing work spaces available. The first has desk space and office chairs. The second a round table with chairs.

The Welcome Building

In the Welcome Building as there are a range of workspaces available for you to use. If you are completing group work the round tables to the right are perfect for a brainstorming session. Although, if you need to focus and get some independent work completed, the desks on the right give you a bit more privacy and the bonus of comfy wheely chairs!

The Welcome Building has a printer and a laptop storage unit available in the building for you to use. Another bonus is that the College Services team work here and will be happy to assist you with College based queries. In the Welcome Building you will also find our friendly Careers Advisors, Sue and Valerie, who would be happy for you to drop in Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 12 – 2pm.

The Refectory

While it might seem like an unusual study spot due to it being quite busy during break times, the refectory transforms into a bright, spacious workspace once the lunchtime rush is over. With plenty of room for group work and collaboration, it’s a fantastic place to settle in when you need an open, social study environment.

One of the perks of studying in the refectory is the quick access to snacks, making it easy to recharge when you need a boost. Plus, there are pool tables nearby – a perfect way to unwind and take a break from your screen.

Inspire Café

Inspire Café provides a range of study spots to suit your needs. Inside, you’ll find comfortable sofas and various tables perfect for getting started with your project. The café’s menu offers plenty of tasty options to keep you fuelled throughout the day – many of our students swear by the freshly-blended fruit smoothies!

The area just outside the café is also a great study spot, complete with vending machines and a water cooler for convenient snacks and hydration. It’s the perfect place to satisfy those afternoon cravings while staying productive.
