Level 2 Diploma in Professional Cookery

Assessment takes place through practical sessions, to demonstrate your professional abilities. There are also several online tests and written assignments to examine your skills.

Once you finish your course, you will be ready to start in an entry-level position in the catering industry. You can also go onto further study in this area, such as a Level 3 qualification, or an Apprenticeship.

There are no fees for this course if you are under 18.

Throughout your studies, you will gain work experience in our on-site restaurant and refectory, catering for staff, students and our local community.

Additional work experience opportunities will be supported by our Industry Liaison Officer, who will find placements that are right for you. These will give you key experiences ready for your future.

We also benefit our community by taking part in social action projects which help with development and skill progression, as well as making a difference locally.

As English and Maths are a key part of the course, you can learn these to GCSE or Functional Skills level alongside your studies.
