Students will create a portfolio of evidence to support their progress throughout the course. Assessment is through a range of methods and can be discussed further upon application.

This course can lead to students progressing into the vocational College
curriculum at Level 1 or 2 in several departments, as well as going onto a
supported internship.

This course is free of charge for all students who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) to the age of 24 years and for other young people with a high level of need to the age of 19 years.

Alongside the one day a week work experience placement, students can gain skills by taking part in our Community Weeks. These are opportunities where we work with local charities and organisations to help and support our local community.

We also run trips and events throughout the year at EKC Broadstairs College, which students on our Foundation and Inclusive Learning courses can be a part of.

Duration: One year.

Year 1: Monday–Friday, 9am–3.30pm (Finish times may differ according to the college and transport.)

To support the change from school to college, staff will visit students in their current school and students can attend taster days at the College.
