Zoë Jewitt

Deputy Principal

Zoë began her career in primary education, teaching Key Stage 2 pupils in schools across Kent and Buckinghamshire. Teaching and learning has always been a particular interest of Zoë’s, and she firmly believes that every learner can progress and achieve through excellent teaching and learning.

Throughout her career, Zoë has enjoyed exploring different approaches to engage learners and support their progress. In 2020, she joined EKC Canterbury College as a Transition Tutor, supporting students studying Functional Skills and GCSE English and Maths. Zoë then moved to EKC Folkestone College as Head of Department for English, Maths and ESOL. Most recently, Zoë has been Group Head of Education Improvement, working across the Group to develop teaching and learning and help improve the educational experience for students and apprentices.

Since joining the further education sector, Zoë has seen first-hand the positive impact colleges can have on learners’ lives. Having enjoyed working across the Group, Zoë was excited by the prospect of becoming part of a local college community again, working closely with students and staff, and seeing the difference we can make every day.

Zoë is looking forward to getting to know the students and staff at EKC Broadstairs College, understanding what makes the College special and working with colleagues to continue providing the best possible experience for students and apprentices.

Outside of work, Zoë enjoys drawing, local beaches, the gym and finding new coffee shops and farmers’ markets.
