A+C Studios: Animation Production

Our Level 3 Animation and Illustration course has been created in close collaboration with animation studio, A+C Studios, who are based in Margate.

They will be on hand during the delivery and will be offering work placement opportunities.

We’ve been speaking to Dan Richards, Founder and Director of A+C Studios, to find out what advice he would give to students who are starting, or thinking about starting the course.

Where will our courses take you?

From building his own computer at College to working on global campaigns for brands like LEGO, former EKC Broadstairs College student Jay has carved out a successful career as a Digital Artist at A+C Studios.

Jay’s journey began at EKC Broadstairs College (then known as East Kent College), where he studied IT, Computing, and Media.

Thanks to his College experience, he got in touch with a portfolio of animations, was offered a role, and is now thriving in his career.

Explore the top 10 careers you could aspire to after completing a Media qualification.

“My favourite project so far has been a video around the student experience at College. We had to interview students and find out what everyday life is like for them.

“This course is teaching me about a lot more about the media industry and what goes into it, which means I can expand on my photography knowledge.

“My dream is to go into the RAF as a Content Creator, where I’d work with pilots in the planes.”

T Level Content Creation

“I’ve always had the interest in photography and filming. I knew that for the T Level course, that would be the core focus.

“For me, a T Level was the way to go as it has a big focus on work placement and connecting with employers.

“I currently have a part time job at Brands Hatch, and I know they have a media team, so I’m hoping to reach out and work more in Content Creation there.

“If you’re considering studying Media, it is really fun and there are so many good skills you will learn.”
