Meet Gillian, our lead lecturer on the T Level Business and Administration course.
As a former branch, regional sales and sales and marketing manager, she has extensive knowledge and experience in recruitment, customer service, marketing and business management, and is always eager to share her knowledge with students.
If you are interested in entrepreneurship, marketing, accountancy, and how a business runs, our courses are where you will find everything you need to expand your skills and understanding in this industry.
You will gain the skills needed thanks to expert teaching, extensive links with local employers and the opportunity to take part in relevant industry trips.
Designed for students aged 16–19, a T Level combines 80% classroom-based learning with 20% work placement experience, with an exciting local employer.
By the time you complete a T Level, you will understand business in theory, but also have experienced it first-hand, leaving you well prepared for university, higher-level apprenticeships or skilled employment.
You’ll take part in industry placements during your course, enabling you to put theory based learning into practice. These also help you gain experience in an area you’re passionate about.
Evie’s been combining classroom learning with hands on experience at OFP Timber Frame as part of her T Level in Business Management and Administration.
From supporting with payroll to creating training guides for new staff, during her time with the company she took on real responsibilities, growing in confidence and skill.
“My work placement at the Yarrow has been really good. I worked in a variety of departments and helped with general responsibilities around the hotel as well.
“I’ve learnt how different departments work together, so it’s given me a full understanding of how the hotel runs overall. It’s been really interesting seeing all the behind-the-scenes parts of the business.”

“I chose a T Level because of the work experience you get alongside the course. I completed my placement at Kent School of English, where I worked in an office support role, carrying out general administration duties as well as helping to supervise the students.
“It definitely helped to build my confidence. I learnt how to communicate with people in different ways and how to work with and manage different types of people.
“I’ve had a lot more freedom than I had at secondary school. They treat us like an adult. It’s quite a big privilege, being here at College.
“I thought that accountancy is quite a good route to get into. If I don’t want to progress into it straight away, I have some kind of qualification going into it later on in my life.
“This year, the class has really bonded. And I’ve really enjoyed learning from Steph – she believes in all of us and is always so supportive.”
